Lake basin morphology is not complex and shows the maximum depth in the central part of the lake bottom. However, two basins may be distinguished: the more shallow western part and the central deep basin surrounded by regularly steep slopes. This duality may be related to more complex lake origin and multistage dead ice melting.
The concentric shape of the main basin with the maximum depth (44.4 m) in the central part of the lake bottom and a lack of embayment and isles suggest relatively simple deposition model. The exposure index indicates a low potential for wind-induced mixing of the lake water column and therefore good conditions for varved sediments deposition in the deepest part of the lake.
