Work Package 3: Analysis of sedimentary biotic remains

Tasks and milestones:
1. Sample preparation (annual resolution for the last 100 years and 3-year resolution for the remaining last millennium).
2. Analysis of chrysophyte stomatocysts using scanning electron microscopy.
3. Analysis of chironomids, diatoms, pollen and non-pollen palynomorphs using light microscopy.

Expected results:
Continuous time series on sedimentary biotic assemblages at annual resolution for the last 100 years (calibration period) and 3-year resolution for the remaining last millennium.
